Tattooing for Private Events

If you're interested in booking me for your event, please include the date, location, guest count, and anything else you think I should know. The more details, the better I can tailor everything to your vibe.

To inquire, email me at jovanjanelle.tattoo@gmail.com
I’d love to bring something permanent to your celebration.

Looking to bring something unforgettable to your party, wedding, or special event? I offer private tattooing for intimate gatherings, and I love creating experiences that feel thoughtful, elevated, and a little unexpected.

Each event is fully customized. We’ll start with a consultation to go over the vision for your event — from how many guests you’re expecting, to how long you’d like me there, to what kind of tattoos you want available. From there, I’ll design a curated flash sheet just for your event and your people.

Pricing depends on a few things:

  • Location

  • Party size

  • Number of hours I’ll be tattooing

  • How many designs will be available to choose from

Frequently Asked Questions

LOCATION & GENERAL INFO

  •  Right now, you can find me at Don Vano by the Verrazzano, located at 7813 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11209.
In late 2025, I’ll be moving to West Palm Beach, Florida. I’ll announce my new studio space as soon as it’s finalized — stay tuned!

  • I’m $250 per hour for tattoos that are 2 hours plus. Smaller tattoos are priced individually based on detail and complexity with a starting minimum of $200

  • I accept Cash, Zelle and Venmo. Zelle and Venmo are subject to NYS Sales Tax.

  • You must be 18 or older — no exceptions.

  • Yes — my books are always open, but my availability tends to book up pretty quickly. On average, I’m scheduled out about 2 months in advance, though this can vary depending on the time of year and the size of the project. Consultations are usually available sooner (within a week or so) and are a great way to get the process started while we plan your actual tattoo date. I recommend reaching out early if you’re hoping to get tattooed by a specific time!

  • While I would love to accommodate walk-ins, my schedule and the way I work don’t really allow for it. I’m usually booked out about 2 months in advance, and I really value having the time and space to thoughtfully design each tattoo before you even step into the studio. It lets my creative brain cook, and it means your piece is fully prepared and intentional from the start. For that reason, I work by appointment only.

  • It really depends on the size, detail, and your skin — but here are some general estimates:

    • Full sleeve: 4-6 full-day sessions

    • Half sleeve: 2–3 sessions

    • Full thigh: 2–3 sessions

    • Full forearm: 1–2 sessions

    • Large Tattoo (8 inches):  5-7 hours

    • Palm Sized: 3-4 hours

    • Small (<4 inches): 1-2 hours

    • Minimal: <1 hour

A session typically consists of a full day’s worth of work, 6-7 hours. For comfort and budget, longer sessions can be divided up into shorter sessions on request. We’ll talk through the timeline during your consult.

DESIGN, STYLE & TATTOO PLANNING

  • I don’t send out designs in advance. I know that takes a lot of trust — and I don’t take that lightly. The consultation process is where I really tune in to your vision, and the design I create is built around that. We’ll go over everything the day of, with time built in for small edits if needed.

  • Yes, of course. Small adjustments are totally welcome — I want the piece to feel right to you. If you want to change the subject entirely (like switching from florals to a portrait), we’ll use the appointment as a second consult and reschedule the tattoo itself. A new deposit would be needed in that case.

  • No problem at all — consultations are where the magic starts. We’ll talk through your inspiration and intentions, and I’ll help shape it into something beautiful and aligned with you.

  • You’re welcome to send inspiration pics, but I won’t copy another artist’s tattoo. Simple things like a tiny heart or star are fine, but otherwise I’ll create something original that feels like you.

  • Sometimes, yes — it depends on the piece. My work is soft and delicate, so not all existing tattoos can be covered in my style. If I don’t think it’s the right fit, I’ll happily refer you to an artist or removal studio that can help.

  • Yes — I don’t tattoo:

    • Profane, hateful, or vulgar imagery

    • Fingers, faces, or behind the ear

    • Bold traditional or graphic styles

If your idea falls outside of what I do, I’ll happily recommend someone who’s a better fit for the vision.

STUDIO DETAILS & EXTRAS

  • Yes, absolutely. I understand the tones, values and contrast specially required for a spectrum of different skin complexions.

  • Yes.

  • I don’t tattoo clients who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding. When the time is right, I’d love to work with you!

  • Item description
  • Yes! Feel free to document your experience and tag me — I love seeing and sharing the process through your lens.

  • I do! You can email jovanjanelle.tattoo@gmail.com to purchase one.

  • Email me anytime — I’m happy to help.

DEPOSITS, TOUCH-UPS & POLICIES

  •  Yes — all tattoos require a deposit to secure your appointment.

    • Deposits are typically $100–$250, depending on the piece.

    • For larger or travel projects, it may be more.

    • Your deposit goes toward your final tattoo total (or your last session if it’s a multi-session piece).

    • Deposits are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

You’re allowed one reschedule with at least 48 hours' notice. No-shows or late arrivals beyond 30 minutes will forfeit the deposit.

I know life happens — if something urgent comes up, just keep me in the loop. I’ll always aim to be fair and flexible when possible.

  • Yes — I offer one free touch-up within 6 months of your tattoo appointment. After that, touch-ups are charged at my standard rate.

If you no-show or cancel the touch-up last minute, that session will count as your free one, and a paid appointment will be needed to reschedule.

PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate — starting a few days before your appointment. Well-hydrated skin makes a huge difference, especially for fine line work. Moisturize the area being tattooed, get a good night’s sleep, and make sure to eat within a couple hours before your appointment to keep your blood sugar steady.

Please avoid drinking alcohol the day before, and be sure to fill out the waiver in your email and look over the studio policies before your session.

  • Yes, you’re welcome to bring one guest or support person to hang out during your session.

  • Wear something comfy and something you’re not too attached to — ink stains are always a possibility. It’s also important that I can easily access the area we’re tattooing. Here are a few quick tips:

    • Back tattoos: zip-up hoodie or button-up worn backwards

    • Sternum/torso: button-up or zip-up worn normally

    • Hips: thin underwear or bikini bottoms

    • Legs: shorts

If you're unsure, don’t stress — I’ve got backup shirts at the studio and we can always improvise. I also have privacy partitions and window curtains so you feel totally at ease.

  • Please shoot me a message if you’re running behind. I offer a 15-minute grace period, but if you’re more than 30 minutes late, we may need to reschedule and your deposit could be forfeited — especially if it affects the next client. Communication is key!

  • Let me know immediately — you’re never bothering me. I keep juice and snacks on hand in case blood sugar dips, and I’m happy to take breaks or walk you through some calming techniques. We’ll go at your pace the entire time.

  • Yes, definitely! I recommend bringing snacks for longer sessions. We’ll take breaks so you can eat, stretch, and regroup.

  • I don’t recommend using numbing cream. It can alter skin texture and cause healing issues, and once it wears off, the pain often rebounds more intensely. That said, I do use Bactine (which contains lidocaine) during the session to take the edge off. If you’re uncomfortable, let me know — we can reapply, pause, or walk through techniques that help you stay relaxed.

HEALING & AFTERCARE

  • I’ll walk you through everything in person before you leave, and I’ll send you home with a small aftercare kit (with written instructions).
Click here for my full aftercare guide.

  • Please message me — even if it’s a small thing. I’d much rather you ask than stress or guess. I’m always here to support you through the full healing process.

    • Surface healing: about 2 weeks

    • Full internal healing: up to 6 months

You can return to most normal activities after the 2-week mark (just please wear sunscreen!).

  • Wait at least 2 weeks before doing any of those — your skin needs time to close and protect the tattoo.

  • A little fading is normal over time, but sun exposure is the biggest culprit. Use sunscreen consistently and your piece will age beautifully.
